One of natures most remarkable creations are slot canyons.  In a seemingly uninteresting landscape, these canyons are carved deep into the earth, formed by rushing water and wind over eons of time.  The result is a feast for the eyes and camera, with color,  textures, and shapes unique to these remarkable creations, and offer endless possibilities in  for photographers. Many of these canyons are located in  Southern Utah and Northern Arizona … an experience every photographer will never forget.

We invite you to join Pixels with instructors Ray Taggart and our special guest instructor, native american large format landscape photographer Mylo Fowler for an adventure into several of these canyons. His background and heritage offers a familiarity and insight into these magnificent sites and are especially valuable because of his background as a landscape photographer.

The workshop begins Wednesday evening  August 22nd at the Courtyard by Marriott in Page, Arizona with a meet and greet, and introductory training by our two instructors.  Pixels owner Ray Taggart will cover techniques for HDR capture (something you will need in the slot canyons).  Mylo will discuss techniques to insure you are getting the sharpest images possible.

The following three days (August 23-25th) the group will explore Horseshoe Bend, many slot canyons including Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon and other significant places of interest for landscape photographers.  All three days will be filled with shooting or workshops back at the base hotel, Courtyard by Marriott.

Price for the workshop is $1050. Participants are responsible for transportation to and from Page as well as to the locations throughout the workshop (we will discuss carpooling at the meet and greet the first night.)  Lodging and meals are on your own as well,  we highly recommend the Courtyard by Marriott since that will be the base of operations and locations of all the of classes.  All entrance fees to the various locations are included.

Space is limited and the workshop is filling up fast. Call the store today if you need more information or reserve your spot.  This will be a wonderful opportunity to explore the magic of these canyons.
